Absalón Rubio of the Cabo Rojo Combatientes spun his magic on the Penuelas Petroleros today. He blanked them 6-0 on 7 hits, registering 2 strikeouts and 3 walks.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Rubio said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Cabo Rojo skipper Gaspar Regalado said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Absalón pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

This year Rubio has compiled a 10-10 mark with a 3.39 ERA.
