|
Riding the 4-hit performance of the three-time All-Star Jorge García, the Yauco Corsos stopped the Vega Baja Caneros, 7-2. Picking up the win was Telamón Mendoza. He went 9 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 1. The Caneros, now 16-44, have lost 7 in a row.
Severo Lozada, the top prospect , had a direct impact on the outcome. Lozada contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Yauco up, 3-0.
