Corozal first baseman Labán Reyes had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Reyes was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2, even as Vieques beat the Plataneros, 10-7. Picking up the win was Aníbal Figueroa. He went 8 innings, allowing 7 runs on 11 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 8. Periandro Moreno recorded the save, his 2nd.

Aníbal Figueroa's at-bat in the bottom of the second was significant for the Esqueletos. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Vieques trailing 2-0, the Esqueletos pitcher drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

Esqueletos manager Teófilo García wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."

Vieques is now 27-31.
