The Las Piedras Artesanos and Manati Atenienses obliged fans looking for a good time.
Behind the hitting of Samuel Martínez, the Las Piedras Artesanos stopped the Manati Atenienses, 6-5. Martínez went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Artesanos. Mamerto González got credit for the win, improving to 9-11. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 8 innings. Roberto Calvo earned save number 4 this season.
With Las Piedras leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Martínez hit a curveball from Leandro Suárez for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Artesanos ahead, 4-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Martínez told the Las Piedras Gazette.
