A good performance from catcher Jorge Apodaca helped the Rio Grande Cotorras defeat the Juncos Valencianos, 8-6. Apodaca went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Cotorras. The Cotorras' win now puts them at 22-22.

The Valencianos had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Cotorras going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 30-year old center fielder Ricardo Becerra came to the plate. Becerra hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 fastball from Juncos hurler Matías González. It was Becerra's 5th double of the year.
