Colonels left fielder Fred Clarke put his stamp on his team's 6-5 win over the Cleveland Spiders. Clarke was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Louisville in the contest. Mike Jones got the win, improving to 18-6. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 11 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 4. The win makes Louisville 51-29.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Clarke delivered big-time for Louisville, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Egyptian Healy. The game-changing hit put the Colonels on top, 6-4.
