Corbett, Washington Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
Both teams had their chances, but the Washington Senators eventually prevailed.

The Washington Senators got a magnificent effort from pitcher Joe Corbett, who kept Baltimore hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Senators win at Boundary Field. The Senators improved to 28-20.

Corbett, a native of San Francisco, California, was dealing all game. He kept Baltimore hitters off-balance, while giving the Senators 9 quality innings. Corbett threw 112 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 5.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Corbett said.
