The Columbus Solons trumped the Boston Reds, 10-8, at Congress Street Grounds. Columbus catcher Harry Decker was terrific. He went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Dan Sheehan. He tossed 136 pitches over 8.2 innings, allowing 8 runs on 9 hits. The Solons now have a record of 11-22.

In the top of the fourth, with the game still scoreless, Decker hit a 2-run single to put his team in the lead.

Solons manager Fraley Rogers wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
