Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Culebra Tortugas were eager to watch Facundo Cruz square off against Mateo Izquierdo of the visiting Fajardo Cariduros. In the end, the Cariduros won the game, 6-3, with Mateo Izquierdo leading the way.

Aldo Vásquez, the top prospect , had a direct impact on the outcome. Vásquez contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Fajardo up, 2-1.

"I'll be honest," said Izquierdo. "I didn't have much left in the tank."
