The Sherbrooke Privateers got a strong performance from pitcher Jim Schurman, who stymied the Levis offense en route to a win, 9-1, at Privateers Park. Sherbrooke, at 51-40, sits in first place in the Ligue de Baseball du Québec Division Nord.

The Privateers got an important contribution from second baseman Edgar Giddens, who in the bottom of the first hit a 2-1 fastball into left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 19th double of the season and put the Privateers ahead, 3-0.

Giddens said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
