Privateers Get Dramatic 10-9 Triumph
People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

In a tight contest at Privateers Park, the Sherbrooke Privateers edged the Gatineau Draveurs by the score of 10-9. Sherbrooke second baseman Edgar Giddens, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Don Dowd, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 2 innings.

The most significant at-bat for Sherbrooke came with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the ninth. Privateers catcher Bob Kerfoot hit a run-scoring single to win the game.

"Exhilarating win," said Kerfoot.

The win puts the Privateers at 43-34, while the Draveurs drop to 34-41.
