The home crowd had a good time watching the Trois-Rivieres Trifluviens and Laval Insulaires get after it.

The Laval Insulaires powered past the Trois-Rivieres Trifluviens, 10-9, at Insulaires Field. Curtis Ivany was 2-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3, to lead the charge. Laval pitcher Joe Blake got the win. He's now 3-1. Gary Ketcheson was tagged with the loss.

Had Pierce Durdle not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Durdle hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 10-9, in favor of the Insulaires.

Durdle said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.

The Insulaires now have a record of 43-28 with the win over Trois-Rivieres.
