The Laval Insulaires picked up a win at Bucherons Stadium, knocking off the Thurso Bucherons, 8-6. On the mound for Laval was right-hander Jeffrey McCarthy, who played a pivotal role in the win. McCarthy got the win, improving to 15-4. He allowed 13 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. McCarthy allowed 6 runs. The Insulaires move to 36-23 with the win, while the Bucherons drop to 27-31.

The Insulaires benefited from an error in the top of the fourth inning. Laval was leading 4-0 when Bill Liston hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Laval in front, 6-0.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Laval skipper Dennis Sexton.
