The Sault Ste. Marie Rapids dealt the Markham Wheelwrights a 5-4 loss at Rapids Grounds. Tommy Hollett was the star on offense. He went 2-3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Edmond Treitz, the winner, improved to 11-4. He held the Wheelwrights to 4 runs on 4 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Sault Ste. Marie is first in the Ontario Baseball Association Northern Division with a record of 63-41.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Sault Ste. Marie third baseman Josh Spottswood, facing Dennis Peck, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Rapids the 5-4 win.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Hollett said.
