North Stars Park hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

The Thessalon North Stars went home winners at North Stars Park, thanks in large part to starter Tommy Stagg. Stagg stifled the Hamilton Hammers, enabling Thessalon to grab the 2-1 win. In 9 innings, Stagg surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.

An impactful at-bat came in the bottom of the fourth inning. With a runner on 2nd, the batter, Teddy MacAulay, reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-1, Thessalon, and helped them go on to win.

"We were in it," said Hamilton manager Jon Blanche. "We just didn't score enough runs."
