Hammers Overcome Great Performance by McIntyre in Win
The Hamilton Hammers weathered an outstanding game by Sault Ste. Marie first baseman Bill McIntyre to topple the Rapids, 12-11. McIntyre went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 5. Ryan Joseph got the win, improving to 2-3. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 10 hits and 7 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The win takes Hamilton to 8-8.

Hamilton used the timely hitting of Declan Hutchison to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hammers on top, 11-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.

"Ugly win or not, we'll take it," said Hutchison.
