The Sault Ste. Marie Rapids topped the Pickering Bonebreakers, 8-4, with youngster Tom Barnes playing a key role. Barnes went 2-3 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Rapids in the win. Pickering is 4-1 after the defeat.
Barnes had a key at-bat for Sault Ste. Marie early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and gave Sault Ste. Marie an early 3-2 lead.
